Receptionist: Haddington - Full Time                              

Fantastic opportunity for a new receptionist to join our growing Haddington surgery. 

As the face of the practice, the successful candidate will be responsible for making our clients feel welcome, and for ensuring that their needs are met in a friendly, whilst professional manner.

Responsibilities include taking calls, booking appointments, taking payments, completing forms and undertaking general office duties. The successful candidate will be positive and enthusiastic, with an ability to follow processes to assist the smooth running of a busy practice.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Meeting and greeting clients in a pleasant, professional manner
  • Booking appointments
  • Dealing with client enquiries face to face, by telephone and email and emailing practice literature
  • Handling client queries positively and efficiently
  • Registering clients and keeping client records up to date on the practice computer system
  • General office duties as required to support the practice
  • Completing forms
  • Taking payments
  • Keeping the reception area clean and tidy
  • Preparing medicines for dispensing (counting/packaging medicines/ labelling bottles etc)

 

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Professional, organised and flexible
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow processes
  • Own transport and full driving license essential

We are open Monday- Friday 8.30 am to 6.30 pm, Saturday 9.00 am – 1.00 pm, Sunday 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. The successful candidate will be based in our Haddington surgery working 40 hours per week on a rota basis with occasional Saturday and Sunday morning surgeries. On occasion they will be required to cover sickness and holidays in any of our other surgeries (Musselburgh, North Berwick, Dunbar and Prestonpans). Remuneration is £7.50 per hour. Full training will be given. 28 days holiday per year. Uniform is provided.
